League of Women Voters of Mendocino County Host County Budget Meeting

County Budget MtgDelivered by the County CEO at Fort Bragg Town Hall

The presentation is the first in a series of five presentations that will be given in each supervisorial district before the County budget hearings, beginning on September 9, 2013.

Supervisor Dan Gjerde volunteered to have his district, the fourth district, be the first to receive these budget presentations. He had the following to say regarding the event: “In times when revenues are stagnant, the balanced budget represents an organization that is constantly looking for new ways to achieve its goals at lower costs.”

lwv_logoThe League of Women Voters of Mendocino County President Jane Person was pleased to offer sponsorship for the event on the group’s behalf, stating “The League of Women Voters of Mendocino County is happy to host this budget presentation as part of its educational outreach to help inform County voters.” The presentation included highlights of the County’s 2013/2014 Recommended Budget, a State of the County update, and items of interest in the fourth district. The intent of these presentations is to inform the audience of the workings of County government and to provide a high level of transparency and accountability to all Mendocino County residents.
