Please join U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 2:00pm for a public meeting to discuss the community’s vision for the continued protection of the Point Arena – Stornetta Public Lands, a significant and scenic area along the Mendocino coastline in Northern California. Managed by the Bureau of Land Management, the area provides great opportunities for outdoor recreation and important wildlife habitat. Securing National Monument designation will ensure that these pristine lands will be conserved and protected for generations. In addition, this will provide one-of-a-kind recreation for locals and visitors alike, being the only on-shore segment of the California Coastal National Monument. Such a unique attraction will draw new visitors to our county and local businesses.
