MCDH Board Meeting Dec 7, 2017
Editorial by Marianne McGee, MA/ABS
The Mendocino Coast District Hospital (MCDH) Board of Directors held a relatively short meeting on December 7, 2017, much of which was updates previously covered in previous Mendocino TV posts including facility updates, hiring an Interim CFO, change of use progress and improvements in quality reports.
New interesting developments include:
- How to report complaints and compliments including improvements on the website to accommodate those needs
- The new Community Advisory Committee has been named, but names, other than Chair Rob Scott, cannot be released without their consent per CEO Bob Edwards. This appears strange to me, given this is a public body and names of the OB Committee were released publicly.
- MCDH and both local healthcare clinics will benefit by working with the medical students in the Ukiah Valley Adventist Hospital Program
- Mendocino Coast Clinics Is now involved with initiating a Street Medicine Program, also in coordination with the Adventist Program.
Most interesting are the citizen comments in the clip below. While some comments are critical, it is very clear that a number of people are very committed to helping build a strong and healthy hospital, regardless of accusations contained in the paid advertisement letters from John Kermen, DO and the Medical Executive Committee.
